Courtmacsherry a small fishing village situated 30mls west of Cork City has established itself as one of Ireland’s premier angling and Boat Trip centres. The clean Atlantic waters warmed by the gulf stream add to the prolific marine life and species of fish that live off our shores. The purpose-built angling boats the” Lady Patricia” and the” Lady Louise” were designed with the anglers comfort and safety in mind. The cruising speed of 18kts gives the angler more fishing time with shark and wreck fishing just 30minutes away. Dolphin, whale watching and scenic trips can also be arranged and we also offer our clients a fleet of self-drive boats for use in the bay. We cater for groups or individuals so contact us for your West Cork Marine Experience.
As an irish sailing association(I.S.A.) recognising teaching establishment you are assured of high safety standards and teaching ratios. All instructors are I.S.A. qualified and approved which guarantees you a high standard of tuition and safety.
Courtmacsherry sailing & Leisure has opted to use the new Pico Dingies. Laser Picos are extremely good boats for beginners as they would be easier to use than other boats which gives people more confidence in what they are doing and they are more likely to succeed.
We also have canoe lessons and canoes for hire. As well as this we use Pyranha Surf Jets which will give you hours of fun. The school also has a selection of wet suits and buoyancy aids available to rent. These are free of charge for people doing the courses. The base for all of these activities is the main Courtmacsherry beach located directly in front of the hotel. There are evening, weekend or weekly courses.
For families with small children, during the summer months, we organise a kiddie’s disco every Monday night at 7- 9pm and movie nights are on Wednesdays at 7pm at Courtmacsherry Hotel.
